Life is Like Climbing A Mountain...

When you love someone, isn't it a logical response to be there for them?

When they're upset, shouldn't you take that seriously and be concerned?

Isn't it that you naturally get concerned when they're upset and want to be there for them?

Don't you want to cheer them up?

Also, to show appreciation for them, do you try to make an effort to do so?

If you've been apart from someone you care about for a long time, don't you miss them?

No matter how busy you are, do you try to make time for them?

This is how I view life:

Life is like a journey, climbing a mountain to reach the top; When you meet people, and let them into your life, you're letting them in on your journey. They either climb up the mountain next to you, because they also want to reach the top, and they help guide you, and in return you guide them. You help each other reach your goals.

Then, there are other people; You let them in on your journey to reach the top, and once they feel lazy or weak, and they don't let you help them, but they want to reach the top, they latch on to you, like a backpack, hold you by the neck, and try to (unintentionally, or intentionally) drag you down the mountain with them. That kind of person should be let out of your journey if you want to reach your goals faster.

Sometimes, people also sit on a plateau halfway up the mountain, and expect you to wait until they're ready to keep climbing. They may or may not intentionally want to slow you down, but either way, they are.

It's healthy to take a break once in a while to catch your breath on a tough journey, but managing your time wisely is also something to consider. If other people want to waste your time, after a while, it's good to know when the right time is to tell them to fuck off. You want to surround yourself with people who are inspiring enough to take you higher, not bring you down.

Anyway, the next time someone you know is taking you down with them, and not trying to help themselves (or let you help them) or help you when there's a problem, let them know what's bugging you, and if they just brush it off like it means nothing to them, tell them to go fuck themselves, and continue your journey with people who actually give a damn about reaching their goals. Be a good friend, but follow your gut instincts when your gut instincts a're telling you something's not right.

Ever Since Drake Became Famous, Stupid People Have Drastically Multiplied

Why is it that ever since Drake (formerly known as Jimmy from Degrassi) got famous, all these people from the Toronto area are claiming to know him somehow?  I keep hearing all these musicians boast about how they "worked with his producer", or others "know a friend of his", or chicks "dated him when he was on Degrassi"... we're really going to do this?

Like the name dropping isn't bad enough, but you're really going to sit there and make up this entire story on how many degrees you're socially separated from him because he's famous and from your city?  Whether the stories are true or not, what do you think you will achieve with this nonsense storytelling?  I doubt it will achieve even 5 minutes of fame, nor will it make you richer.

I used to watch Degrassi when he played Jimmy, so to see this kid from Toronto blow up globally was actually a proud moment for a second... until he spread "YOLO" around like an incurable disease, and got all these sheep to start using that stupid acronym.

Don't get me wrong- I don't hate Drake.  I don't even know him.  I just had to get this out because I've been bottling it up for a while.  Proud of him for representing Toronto, but irritated with him for representing Toronto as this city full of personalities who say shit like, "YOLO".

"YOLO" Is "Carpe Diem" for Asshats

With all this "end of the world" and "YOLO" talk this year, no wonder there are so many people these days doing such stupid things.. getting dumber by the minute. After the 21st, when we see the world is still here, time to quit it & smarten up!

Choices, Choices: Kissing a Smoker vs. Kissing Someone Who Doesn't Know What A Toothbrush Looks Like

I wonder why some non-smokers don't brush, floss and rinse their teeth... those happened to be the same people that think kissing a smoker is like kissing an ashtray.

I'll tell you the truth- I'd rather have a long make out session with an ashtray full of stale, damp cigarettes than kiss someone's morning breath from a week ago.

I see making out with someone who doesn't brush their teeth as similar to making out with someone who just drunkenly projectile-puked on the floor, then licked it up.  I've seen a lot of non-smokers with darker teeth than some people who smoke a pack a day.  Somehow, these people managed to make their teeth resemble Indian Corn.

Can you imagine kissing a hot model that has major b.o that smells exactly like cooked onions, with matching barf breath? Hot, right?

Lemme know what you think!  If there were only 2 people on this planet left for you, would you kiss a smoker or kiss a non-brusher?  And no- you don't have the power to off yourself to prevent either option.

10 Anti-Crocs Commandments

Crocs are soooooooooo non. **shudders** I don't know what's worse:

1) Crocs on their own
2) Crocs with socks
3) Crocs with those Jazzy Jewelry things in the holes
4) Veggies (Crocs sans the holes)
5) Crocs on adults (because they would know better than that)
6) Crocs on children (that's when I give the look of disapproval to the parents for teaching them young)
7) Crocs worn out; whether it be at the mall, or on a 5 hour flight
8) Crocs knock-offs (because, really.)
9) Crocs on hot guys (saw a pic of Jared Leto wearing them and I wasn't having it... kinda ruined the fantasy)
10) Crocs cell phone cases... because it's not bad enough some people slip their feet into them, we just have to go the extra mile with the mobile.

The 10 Anti-Crocs Commandments.   I don't care how many colors they come in to match your very mood or outfit- these rule in hideous and pointless footwear.

Be Kind: Wipe Equipment at the Gym After Each Use!

It never fails:  Every time I go to the gym, I end up wiping the equipment before and after my workout.  I sound like a major germaphobe, but I have my reasons.

Back in the day, when I was "one of those" people who sold $1,800.00 Kirby vacuums door-to-door in the San Francisco Bay area, I was told that sweat has a 10% concentration of urine during my sales training.

Doing some research, I found that both sweat and urine have the same nitrogen-containing substance called urea, which is found in the urine of mammals (yes, human- you are indeed a mammal in case you forgot).  Every time you sweat, you're basically peeing a little through your pores.  This explains why you see some people who wear white shirts get those yellow stains on the armpits.

Even some women don't wipe the machines!!  I can't wrap my head around this because my mother always told me, "A lady should always value tidiness, organization and cleanliness."

Don't get me wrong- sweating is good to get all those toxins out of your body.. but to be rude and not wipe down the machines at the gym after you sweat all over them- you might as well just pull down your pants and piss all over them.  It's disgusting.

If I see someone use a machine and just walk away and move on to the next machine, I automatically assume they probably don't shower after their workouts either.  Just plain dirty.

My boyfriend had a suggestion:  You know those kids that need to do community service for whatever the reason?  They should volunteer hours at the gym- they would walk around holding up big signs that say: "Be Kind: Wipe Down The Machines After Each Use!"  There are signs around the gym, but I'm sure these people don't see them because they're by the stations with the paper towels and that sanitizing spray.  These volunteers would have whistles around their necks for when someone doesn't wipe after use, attracting attention from the other members   Both humiliating and annoying... maybe more annoying than anything but it's already annoying enough having to wipe down the seat pre-workout.

Maybe this gym should have a sign on every machine with numbered instructions on how to properly use the equipment, including 5.) Walk to sanitizing station, grab a paper towel, spray it, walk back to machine and wipe everything you touched- especially the handles and the seat.

The fact I've seen numbered instructions on "How To Wash Your Hands" in public washrooms on the mirror makes me really question the human race. More about this topic another day.

Moral of this story: Be kind: wipe equipment at the gym after each use.  We don't pay for gym memberships to become part-time janitors, cleaning up after others.

HAVE A HAPPY AND SANITARY WEDNESDAY! :)

Movember is Coming to An End!!

I was at the gym yesterday and I was talking to the front desk girl at first.  I left, came back, she was gone and standing there was this 6'4" dude with the creepiest looking facial hair.  I'm sure he's probably good- looking in other months, but yesterday he just looked like a pervert Luigi from Mario Bros.

Looking forward to December- as a girl, November just felt creepy walking around by myself.  All these dudes walking around looking like pedophiles.

Here's to December- which is in 2 DAYS!!! :D
